Le Bourg-d'Oisans offers climbs to Alpe d'Huez and Col du Lautaret with significant elevation gains and mostly paved surfaces.

Le Bourg-d'Oisans is the start point for two notable routes: the 15.3 km climb to Alpe d'Huez with 1029 m elevation gain, and the longer 39 km ride to Col du Lautaret with 1532 m gain. The routes pass through various small places including La Garde, Auris en Oisans, and Villar-d'Arêne. The Alpe d'Huez climb starts quickly from 1.1 km with an average grade of 7.4% and reaches 1749 m at the summit. The Col du Lautaret route features a longer climb section of 14.7 km at an average of 4.9%, reaching 2050 m at the top. Riders encounter a mix of paved and some gravel roads, with service gaps up to 13.2 km on the Lautaret route.
