Aimargues sits on the Languedoc plain, and the riding from here is defined by its flatness. The main line out of town heads west, a 35.6 km point-to-point to Montpellier that gathers just 86 m of climbing over its full length. It passes La Garrigue and then Lunel and Lunel-Viel, working through Mas des Caves, Les Parpayols and Valergues before reaching Lansargues, Saint-Brès and Mudaison. The second half links the plain villages to the city. Mauguio comes next, then Mézouls and Les Garrigues, before the route arrives at Port Marianne on the edge of Montpellier and continues through the Centre, Prés d'Arènes and Croix d'Argent districts. With no significant climb on the whole 35.6 km, it is a route about steady progress between towns rather than gradient, and it can be ridden in either direction between Aimargues and Montpellier.
